About Us
The016 Magazine is a female black-owned digital publication launched in 2019, proudly serving the Sebokeng community and the greater Vaal Triangle. We tell the stories of the people, businesses and culture that make our community what it is — with authenticity, pride and a deep sense of belonging.
About The Magazine
Founded in 2019, The016 Magazine grew out of a simple belief: that the Sebokeng community deserved a publication that reflected its own voice back at it. As a female black-owned title, we built The016 from the ground up to cover the news, business, culture and youth movements that larger, Johannesburg-focused outlets often overlook.
Today, The016 Magazine reaches nearly half of Sebokeng's readers and has been recognised and reviewed by publications in five countries outside South Africa. From local entrepreneurs and grassroots events to the artists and creatives shaping youth culture, we exist to put the spotlight on real stories, told by real voices, for real impact.
